We waited until the entire season was out until we watched it. We wanted to watch it all without weeks or months between episodes.
The entire season was epic in every way possible. I loved seeing Hop's relationship with El evolve. I loved the references to earlier seasons. I loved that Will finally got to shine.
I figured out Max's role before she even showed up this season.
For once I didn't feel like the scientific explanation of everything ruined the magic of the thing, as is so often the case when fantastical stories try to legitimise what's happening. Why can't people just let magic be magic? But that wasn't an issue this time.
There are only two things I didn't like with this season. The first is that they left the entire Doctor Kay thread dangling with no resolution. The second is how open-ended they left El's fate. Even if it ends in a bad way I'd rather know, than have this feeble "it's up to you". It's just a cop-out.
